I wear makeup most days. Whether it be a tinted moisturizer and some lip balm before running errands on a Saturday or a full face of products before date night, it's safe to say that I wear makeup on the reg.
Not only do I wear makeup often, but I've been wearing it for 10+ years. That's a whole lot of products my skin has absorbed over the years.
But, my makeup routine looks a lot different now than it did 6 months ago.
USE WITH CONCERN
POSSIBLE ORGAN TOXICITY
RESPIRATORY AND SKIN IRRITATION
POSSIBLE OVARIAN CANCER CARCINOGEN
KNOWN HUMAN CARCINOGEN
TOXIC TO REPRODUCTION
POSSIBLE ENDOCRINE DISRUPTOR
NO SAFETY DATA FOR SKIN
And these are just some of the words and phrases linked to the ingredients in my makeup. This list doesn't even include what I found out about my old laundry detergent, hairspray, shampoos, body lotions, etc.
Now, I'm not writing this blog to reveal what I used to purchase or to bash other companies. That's not what Beautycounter is about, and that's not what I'm about.
I'm here to tell you about what I'm using now.
After I uncurled myself from the fetal position, it became my goal to completely switch my makeup products to safer.
I started with my foundation and blush, which happened to be the most harmful, and kept switching from there. As I ran out of products, I began to replace them with Beautycounter.
As of 5 months ago, I have a completely new makeup routine and I'm absolutely in love with it.
Don't worry, I'll share.
Here's what's currently in my makeup bag:
Tint Skin Foundation (Sand)
Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer (No. 2)
Touchup Skin Concealer Pen (Light)
Color Contour Matte Bronzer (No. 1)
Color Pinch Cream Blusher (Hibiscus)
Color Outline Eye Pencil (Black)
Of course, I do not use all of these products every day. My everyday go-to is: foundation, concealer, blusher, eye shadow and mascara.
But, I truly enjoy putting on my makeup each morning because I know that I'm choosing safer ingredients for my skin. I feel like I'm doing my skin a favor by using these products. And, not only that, but I'm using less and it still lasts me all day. My Beautycounter makeup was truly an investment in my health.
